Saddle adjustments such as top up flocking or gullet adjustments can be carried out during appointments, however for more time consuming or complex works, Eleanor will complete these within one week and advise if a second appointment is required to recheck the fit.
View our stocked saddle range in our comprehensive onsite showroom. We provide demo/trial saddles should you wish to trial and purchase, offer to search for second hand saddle options which will be emailed to you after the appointment. Please come prepared to ride and, if hoping to trial new saddle options, ensure you are wearing clean breeches and that your riding boots are free from mud and debris.
We are in the fortunate position to now have a 60x40m all weather Kaiaua sand arena, with full compliment of jumps and a large covered yard for all assessments. Use of this area is available for hire to the public, as either a place to hold your own lesson with a guest instructor, or to use independently on an hourly basis. There is a large tacking up area and plenty of parking.
$15.00 Per Hour, Per Horse
We also have a showroom for our preferred products; Kent and Masters, Fairfax, and NSC Saddles and accessories and saddlery workshop for any adjustments.
My sister Julia, who is a fully qualified human and veterinary physio therapist, is also on site. We have facilities specially constructed to do a full physio assessment of both horses and riders. (Currently unavailable due to parental commitments)
Katja
Spooner is originally from Germany and has been living in New Zealand
for over 10 years with her Kiwi husband. In 2014, she qualified as an
NZQA horse riding coach at Kyrewood Equestrian Centre in Palmerston
North. Katja has a working background in many different aspects of the
horse industry (from horse racing, to trekking and riding schools).
Early in 2023 she began to train with Eleanor to become a saddle
fitter, which works in very well with her existing knowledge. At the
end of her 9 months initial training, Katja joined the Equi-Fit team and
is now on the road to gaining her Qualified Saddle Fitters UK
qualification.
She covers Equi-Fit’s fitting areas of West and North Auckland. Along side Katja’s saddle fitting she is also the Equine Manager at her local RDA at Ambury Park Centre in Mangere Bridge. Even in her spare time, she can not get away from horses and competes her mare in dressage.
"We have been so pleased with the professional service provided by Eleanor. Thorough, honest, and always with the comfort and welfare of the horse in mind. Our horses have been sound and happy in their work following fittings by Eleanor. Highly recommend!"
