Technology – Pliance

THE DREAM

THE DREAM

It has been a 15 year dream for Eleanor and her sister Julia to work together as a team with education and evidence based research at the centre of what they do.

After identifying UK based saddlers Fairfax as a company aligning with their core values and beliefs it was a natural progression to visit German Tech company Novel, to discover more about their world leading pressure mapping technology which has revolutionised saddle fit and saddle manufacture.

Glenbrook Meadows is now the first operators in the southern hemisphere to own the Pliance system and they are delighted to bring its game changing capabilities to the NZ market.

“it is so important to continuously look to improve your service for the wellbeing of both horse and rider,  Pliance allows us to do this, measurement using this technology takes out any form of human error and really allows us to refine a service that traditionally has relied on subjective measures”

PLIANCE IN A NUTSHELL

Pliance is a thin elastic sensor mat with over 250 capacitive sensors that are individually calibrated.  The system takes a dynamic measurement, through walk, trot, canter, gallop and even jump, allowing an objective evaluation, representing the pressure distribution.  This leads to better understanding of the dynamic interaction between horse and saddle.  Harmful pressure points that arise from poor saddle fit can be recognised and corrected.  Once in place the measurements are transmitted to a laptop and can be stored allowing for repeatable measurement, to track your horse over time.
